Terms of sale and refunds

These terms cover paying for Supporter, and explain how our merch is sold. They sit alongside the terms of use, which cover the rest of the app. Supporter and merch are not on sale yet; these terms apply from the day they are, and you will see them before you pay.

Supporter is an optional extra. Everything you can do in the app without it stays free: tasting notes, My cellar, wishlists, collections, the catalogue, clubs, events, the official-vs-community comparison, drinking tracking and downloading your data.

• Fewer adverts. You do not see adverts from pubs, bars and shops, and Step inside never shows its full-page advert to you (others see it from 30 days after their first visit). You still see adverts from brands, festivals and other drinks-trade businesses.
• Unlimited shelf scans. Everyone scans without a limit for their first 90 days; after that it is 5 a month without Supporter. Like everyone's, your scans can pause if the app's own monthly scanning budget runs out.
• Deeper insights beyond the Insights page: everyone has them for their first 90 days.
• A Supporter badge on your profile, which you can hide in Settings → Supporter.

If your Supporter time ends, you lose these extras and nothing else. Everything you have recorded stays yours, visible and downloadable.

• £3 a month, renewing each month until you cancel.
• £30 for a year, paid once. It does not renew.
• A month for tokens. The number of tokens is shown before you confirm. It does not renew, and tokens have no cash value.

Supporter is sold to people in the United Kingdom only. We are not registered for VAT, so no VAT is added: the price shown is the price you pay. Payments are taken by Stripe; we never see your card number. Before you pay, one screen shows the price, how often you are charged, whether it renews, how to cancel and your right to a refund.

The monthly plan renews on the same day each month. Before each renewal we remind you of the price, the date and how to cancel.

You can cancel at any time in Settings, in no more steps than it took to start, with no reason asked. Supporter then runs to the end of the month you have paid for and stops, and we confirm the cancellation.

If we change the price, we tell you at least 30 days before your first renewal at the new price, and you can cancel before it applies.

You can have a full refund, for any reason, if you ask within 14 days of starting Supporter, and again within 14 days of each monthly renewal. This applies even though you started using Supporter straight away. Ask in Settings or by email; the refund goes back to the card you paid with, usually within 5 to 10 days, and Supporter ends when it is refunded.

A month bought with tokens can be undone within 14 days: the tokens are returned. Tokens are never paid out as money.

If Supporter does not work as described, tell us. We will fix it, or refund you for the time it did not work. This is on top of your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Deleting your account ends Supporter and cancels any renewal. If you delete it within a refund window above, you can still ask for that refund by email.

If we stop offering Supporter or close the app, we tell you at least 30 days before. Monthly plans stop renewing, and we refund the unused part of a yearly payment, worked out by the day.

Merch on our merch page is made, sold and posted by a print-on-demand company, named beside each Buy button. When you buy, you buy from them: payment, delivery, returns and refunds are under their terms, which they show before you pay. We design the items and receive a share of the price. We never sell drinks.

The law gives you the same rights whoever you buy from: 14 days to change your mind after delivery (except for items made to your own choices, such as a name printed on them), and a repair, replacement or refund for anything faulty or not as described. Claim these from the print-on-demand company. If you cannot sort it out with them, email us and we will help.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales, or, if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in the courts where you live. Nothing here affects your legal rights as a consumer. The terms of use cover everything else about the app.
